Study Advice

Final Thesis (BSc/MSc)

Theses are supervised if their content is in line with the teaching and research activities of the chair. You can find the topics supervised by the chair's team members at their respective profiles here. It is possible to propose own topics. You only need one supervisor for your thesis. Please contact the chair member you would like to have as supervisor with reasonable time in advance. After consultation with the supervisor, your thesis can be registered.

Please make sure that when you approach a member of the Chair for a potential supervisory role, you send along a research proposal. Instructions on how to craft a research proposal can be found bellow.

General

  • Editing time from registration:
    • Bachelor: 3 months (FT); 4,5 months (PT)
    • Master: 6 months (FT); 12 months (PT)
  • Language:
    • Bachelor: English or German
    • Master: English

Practical Phase

Project work (B.Sc.) or political science in practice phases (M.Sc.) are supervised if their content is in line with the teaching and research activities of the chair. You can inform yourself about the activities of the chair here. Please contact us in a timely manner.

  • Duration:
    • Bachelor: 3 months (FT); 4,5 months (PT)
    • Master: 3,5 months (FT); 5 months (PT)
  • Evaluation: "passed" or "failed"

Final Report

  • Submission after completion of the practical project or the political science practical phase
  • Exemplary guideline for the content of the report: motivation or relevance of your choice of project/topic; description of your content-related activities; connection to your studies; declaration of authorship
  • Length: 10 - 12 pages
  • Language:
    • Bachelor: English or German
    • Master: English
